In order to book you will only have to pay a security deposit per person of $20 USD of the cost of the excursion, the remaining balance MUST BE PAID IN CASH at check-in the day of your activity.

Explore and discover the beauty of the archaeological site of Chacchoben. The Chacchoben Mayan Ruins Excursion includes a bilingual professional guide (Spanish and English), snacks and drinks.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE TOUR?
You will be picked up just outside of the Costa Maya cruise ship terminal, please follow instructions shown in the following link: https://www.chacekcostamaya.mx/how-to-find-us-at-costa-maya/
From our meeting point we will drive for about 50 minutes to the Chacchoben archaeological site where you will have a 1.5 hour guided tour with a native guide who will unveil the history of a Mayan city that flourished around 300 AD.
On our way we will famous and extraordinary local village called Pedro Santos also know as Pineapple Village for its unique honey pineapple where our guide make a brief explanation of the village (Stop of 5 – 10 minutes upon request for picture, or any purchase of fruits).
The visit to the Chacchoben archaeological is complemented with a walk under the jungle to explore and get to know the different structures on the site like: Templo 24, Plaza B, Gran Plaza, Gran Basamento, Los Gemelos, Las Vasijas and Temple One.
During this excursion you will also have the possibility of learning about local plants and seeing some species of local fauna including birds and spider monkeys.
After leaving Chacchoben we will take you back to the town of Mahahual. We will finish the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins Excursion taking you back to the port so that you can board your ship.

Start time: This excursion is especially planned to meet cruise ship schedules so meeting time mainly depends on your ship’s time of arrival, we generally give 20 to 30 minutes to get to our meeting point once the ship has docked and has opened the doors for people to get off. Your driver and guide will be waiting for you with a sign with the logo of Chac Ek Costa Maya.

There’s a $5 USD copyright fee (not included in the tour price) for the use of video cameras at Chacchoben, this fee is paid directly at the site. Tripods aren’t allowed into the site.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- You will receive confirmation at time of booking.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Minimum drinking age is 18 years.
- Subject to favorable weather conditions. You will get a full refund if poor weather prevents us from doing the excursion.
- Payment is fully refundable if for any reason cruise ship doesn’t call port at all in Costa Maya.
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. You will get a full refund if this happens.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel at least 7 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee. Cancelling between 3 and 6 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 50 percent cancellation fee. In case of cancellation within 2 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.
