Explore and discover the beauty of the archaeological site of Chacchoben. The Chacchoben Mayan Ruins Excursion includes a bilingual professional guide (Spanish and English), snacks and drinks.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE TOUR?
You will meet your guide at a central location in Costa Maya. From there, we will take you to the Chacchoben archaeological site where you will have a 1.5 hour guided tour with a native guide who will unveil the history of a Mayan city that flourished around 300 AD.
The activity is complemented with a walk under the jungle to explore and get to know the different structures on the site like: Templo 24, Plaza B, Gran Plaza, Gran Basamento, Los Gemelos, Las Vasijas and Temple One.
During this excursion you will also have the possibility of learning about local plants and seeing some species of local fauna including birds and spider monkeys.
After leaving Chacchoben we will take you back to the town of Mahahual.
We will finish the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins Excursion taking you back to the port so that you can board your ship or to your hotel.

Start time: If you come on a cruise ship your activity will begin exactly an hour after your ship’s time of arrival, please be at the meeting point 20 to 15 minutes before start time. All other customers will choose their start time at the time of booking.

There’s a $5.00USD copyright fee (not included in the tour price) for the use of video cameras at Chacchoben, this fee is paid directly at the site. Tripods aren’t allowed into the site.
