Explore and discover the beauty of the Bacalar lagoon in Mexico on a sightseeing boat tour. The excursion includes a professional bilingual guide (spanish and english), snacks and beverages.

The first glimpse you’ll have of this beautiful lagoon is at our marina, where we will meet your boat guide, who will be in charge of your tour from that moment on.

The first place to visit in the Bacalar Lagoon is “Cenote Esmeralda”, where you’ll be amazed by the different shades of blue and understand why the Bacalar Lagoon is frequently referred as the 7 colors lagoon. Our next stop is “Cenote Cocalitos”, home of stromatolites, that are known as living stones and are considered the oldest form of life in the planet.

The third point to enjoy will be “Black Cenote” which is an open sky cenote and also the deepest point of the lagoon. Don’t have to worry about the depth, you’ll have life-vests to swim around the cenote if you choose to do so.

The final spot to explore is the Pirate Channel, as you’ll be explained, pirates used to enter Bacalar by using this channel to steal local precious wood. This spot is not deep and is ideal for swimming in the fresh water of Bacalar, you’ll also have a beautiful view of the different shades of blue of the Lagoon and it’s the perfect place for you to enjoy a skin exfoliation rub using the mineralized mud of the lagoon!

This is a simple but very joyful tour. It is well arranged, we were given enough time to spend in the beautiful lagoon, the guide is very kind and we were well taken care of.

We booked this off our cruise when it docked. It was our first time in Mexico. It was a very good decision. We were collected at the taxi rank and had a new dedicated minibus fully air conditioned with excellent people. We were taken on a really authentic tour with dedicated personal service by a most decent and dedicated man Mo We were taken to a boat trip and the trip was magical. Lots of wildlife and we were shown the warm springs. We were taken out a swim and had plenty of time. On the way back we were treated to a light meal at a busy street side restaurant. Our people rang in our order and it was ready This was a wonderful experience and it was added greatly to by Ron and Faustino as well as the Captain of the boat who was wonderful We were dropped back to the ship with plenty of time to spare

My son, mother, and I went on the 7 colors lagoon excursion in Bacalar on January 14, 2020 with tour guide Ismael and an excellent driver. The tour began with an hour and 30-40 mins drive from the cruise port in Costa Maya to the lagoon boat dock in Bacalar (note: the meeting point was right outside the security gate of the Costa Maya cruise port. It was somewhat confusing exiting the port area but I just kept asking port employees for assistance with the directions to the meeting point). Ismael was very knowledgeable about the different regions we were traveling through to get to Bacalar. Once at Bacalar we boarded a boat and were provided with snacks (chips or nuts) and drinks of our choice (water, Pepsi, or Corona beer). We sailed along the beautiful waters and saw the many different shades of blue of the fresh water lagoon, the deep cenotes, bird island, and we were educated about the pirate’s channel, and living rock stromatolites in the lagoon. A personal highlight of this tour would be my 75 yrs old mother getting into the water to exfoliate with the lagoon’s sulfurous mud. My mother has NEVER ventured more than 2 inches into any body of water, however, Ishmael was extremely patient and caring which made her feel more secure as he held her hand/arm and braced her during the waist deep walk through the water to get to the ankle deep muddy water area. Following the boat tour we went to an old fort for a brief history and photo op. Then we headed to a semi open aired authentic taco restaurant which was really tasty. Ishmael had called in our taco orders ahead of time while we were at the lagoon. On the drive back to the cruise port we stopped at a fruit stand along the road and were each provided with a full bag of fruit of our choice (pineapple, mango, watermelon, etc.) Overall, I would give this tour and Ishmael more than 5 stars. My family and I really enjoyed this excursion. I would definitely recommend this all inclusive tour for all ages.
